Supplier Organization

Overview

In this course, you will learn the basics of Supplier Organization. Supplier Organization is going to be key in the accuracy of the K3S Suggest Orders. You will be data checking, reviewing demand patterns, and reviewing order cycles.

Supplier Organization in K3S consists of four steps. This module is broken up into 4 different lessons that will cover each step. Each lesson has its own learning objectives. By the end of the module, you will understand the essential steps of Supplier Organization, and be able to perform those steps in K3S.

Module 1: Supplier Settings

Here you will review the supplier lead times (quoted and calculated), determining if the supplier should be set as a fixed cycle, and reviewing bracket level constraints.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Gain an understanding of the difference between the “calculated lead time” and the “quoted lead time.”
  2. Performing the action to create a Fixed Cycle for a supplier if it is required.
  3. Adding and reviewing bracket level constraints

Module 2: Product Settings

After reviewing Supplier Settings, your next step will be to review the individual products. Specifically, how the products will be purchased and counted. You will have the opportunity to set order minimums, convenience packs, and set min and/or max order points

Learning Objectives:

  1. Learning the importance of data checking products and know exactly where to look and what to look for.
  2. Gain an understanding of the steps to make changes to a product’s buy multiple and current values.
  3. Learn the steps to add control order points on products that have a shelf-life.

Module 3: Product Demand

Your next step will be to review the individual products demand patterns. Here you will be ensuring the history is correct, reviewing the forecast, looking for seasonality, and determining if the product should be a manual buy (i.e. racks, office supplies, etc).

Learning Objectives:

  1. Understanding the options and steps you can take to change the product average if needed.
  2. Knowing the steps to create a seasonal profile on a product.
  3. Knowing how to set a product to manual.

Module 4: Order Cycle Analysis

Your next step will be to review the supplier’s order cycle. The supplier’s order cycle is essential to the suggested order of each product. If your order cycle is not set to an optimal level, the supply of the products will fall off balance.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Understanding how to review different order cycle patterns.
  2. Knowing how to find the optimal order cycle.
  3. Gain an understanding of what to do on this step if you have a fixed cycle supplier
